FAQ

Question: I can't see what I want on your web-site?

Answer: We can supply any marking product that you require or may have seen elsewhere - please contact us directly to discuss your requirement with our friendly staff who have many years experience in the business.

Question: I want to stamp a loyalty card which ink should I use?

Answer: If your card has an "unfinished" surface then you will be ok with normal stamp ink, but if it has a sheen to it or has been laminated then you will need a special fast drying ink.

Question: What is the difference between a self-inking stamp and an ordinary rubber stamp?

Answer: A rubber stamp needs a separate ink pad to function - with a self-inking stamp the pad is contained within the body of the stamp, this pad can be replaced when the stamp becomes faint with use.

Question: The rubber on my stamp has swollen, stopped printing properly and finally has now fallen off, what's has happened to it?

Answer: Rubber stamps generally have a long life when used with the correct ink or replacement ink pad.  It sounds as if someone has tried to re-ink your stamp using an incorrect product which has damaged the rubber.

Question: I already have some of your stamps - one is a Solid 65 and the other is an Alpo 65 - with our address and phone number.  We have now moved can we just change the rubber for the new details or do we have to buy a new stamp?

Answer: One of the advantages of buying the heavier duty stamps is just this, they have the longevity to make it worthwhile to just change the rubber - check our product list for "Replacement Die Kits" to see the details of what is available

Question: What are your rubber stamps made of?

Answer: All the "rubber" bits of our rubber stamps are made of natural rubber, which is durable and gives the best quality image.  When buying stamps, always check that this is the case as some "cheap" suppliers will use moulded plastic.  This will have a tendency to "bounce" when used leaving a double image and also will flatten much more quickly than a "rubber" stamp spoiling the impression and necessitating replacement much sooner

Question: I think your portayal of the stamps in the "View Images" feature is fantastic! Do you do that yourself - how do you do that??

Answer: Thank you for your kind remarks, we think it is pretty good ourselves.  The process is carried out by an associate Company of ours, the equipment has been developed in-house and can be used to supply 360 degree imaging of almost any reasonably sized object.  If you are interested for your own business please contact us - it's not expensive and all you have to do is supply a sample of the product - we do everything else.

Question: I have ordered an ink pad from you for my "Trodat" stamp but you have sent me a "Colop" pad can I return it?

Answer: Of course you can, if we have made an error we'll happily put it right for you, but I suspect it really isn't necessary - try it and see if it does the job.  These days the larger manufacturers make pads which are interchangeable with each others machines so the one we have sent to you should fit your stamp.  Many of the smaller manufacturers also design their products to accept the pads from the larger companies.  This policy means that retailers/wholesalers do not have to stock the thousands of variations of ink pads to suit individual items and also facilitates the supply of a replacement pad for some of the more obscure brands.

Question:  I have to sign many letters during the course of a week and find that not only does my signature deteriorate, but I'm getting cramps in my hand.  Is there anyway that you can make a stamp of my signature?

Answer:  We come across this quite frequently (and particularly at Christmas time when there are all those cards to sign!!).  It is also useful for people who maybe cannot sign their name through disability or arthritic conditons.  You can select any of the different types of stamp that we do (just ensure that you pick one that your signature will fit).  We need a specimen of your signature to work from so if you have access to a scanner then scan a specimen to us via the "Upload Own Design" option on the Design page.  If you cannot scan a specimen, then just pop a sample in the post to us and we'll do the rest, use the text design area to tell us what you have done.  There is NO aditional charge for this service.
